In case of aerosol-generating procedures performed on COVID-19 patients, each healthcare worker should utilise: N95, FFP2 or FFP3 respirator,1,2 gown,1,2 gloves,1,2 eye protection (goggles or face shield),1,2 apron.1,2 As previously mentioned, in Italy, the set is often completed with overshoes, surgical caps and a double pair of gloves. The use of a powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR), if available, should be used to further reduce the chances of transmission which can occur despite N95 or equivalent mask protection.4
